Statement

• 1. Overall responsibility for safety, health, environment and fire for Record Playground Equipment Ltd is vested in me by virtue of my appointment as Managing Director of the company. The SHEF Statement, which is to be observed throughout the premises, indicates the organisation and arrangement I have set up to achieve my objective of discharging my duty to comply with the Health & Safety Act 1974. It reflects the importance that I attach to protecting the environment and to the health, safety and welfare of all employees in my area of responsibility and of all other persons who may be affected by their activities




• 2. All Line Managers reporting directly to me are to achieve my objectives and they are to ensure that all their staff do likewise.




• 3. It is my intention that Record Playground Equipment Ltd will conduct its activities to avoid damage to the environment, and to provide all personnel with, so far as is reasonably practicable:
  
  a. Safe facilities and equipment
  b. Safe systems of work
  c. Safe and healthy places of work
  d. Safe information, instruction, training and supervision to enable personnel to carry out their work/training safely and without risks to their health or to the environment.
  
  
• 4. Central to the successful provision of the above is a system that identifies significant workplace/fire hazards and carries out an assessment of the risk associated with them. I expect my managers to implement the systems and all employees to co-operate with its aims by bringing to my attention any significant hazards that might arise in the workplace area that are not subject to existing controls.
  
  
• 5. In my turn, I will ensure that prompt action is taken to address all newly identified hazards with adequate controls as far as is reasonably practicable and I require all personnel to do likewise.
