Pentland's Park Play Area, Chilton Town Council
Eye catching scheme caters for all ages and abilities
Children of all ages now have somewhere to play after Record RSS installed a new 130k play area at Pentland’s Park on behalf of Chilton Town Council.
After extensive consultation by the Town Council, a number of companies were selected to tender for the project. After the initial consultation, the 3 remaining companies were asked to display and share their proposals with the residents around the Pentland’s Park area. The residents were then asked to vote on their preferred designs, and the Record RSS design overwhelmingly came out on top! After several months of fundraising, the Chilton Town Council were then in a position to place an order with Record RSS, and work started on site in late July. The project went to plan and was completed within seven weeks.
The Pentland’s Park Play Area was officially opened by Mayor Len Potts, who met with children from Chilton Primary School, as well as a large number of residents who had gathered to witness the occasion. Members of the old Sedgefield Borough Council, who part funded the project through the "Local Improvement Program" were also present. The Mayor gave "Thanks to Sedgefield Borough Council and the Big Lottery for funding this lovely park”. Thanks were also given to Record RSS and Steve Robinson Landscapes, for their work in delivering the final project.
The eye-catching scheme caters for all ages and abilities. It includes the impressive Synergy unit, with its smooth curves and numerous climbing challenges, and an immense Rope Tower which provides limitless climbing opportunities whilst adding an imposing centrepiece to the play area.
Eleanor Smith, Area Manager for Record RSS commented “The parents and youngsters gave us a lot of information regarding the design of this play area. We had to take into consideration the children’s ages whilst making sure that there was plenty of space for running around and that it was as challenging as possible. The response from the families has been enlightening and it has made it all the more pleasurable for us the designers, manufacturers and installers.”
